WorldSkills Day at National Star College

Tuesday 13th September at 02:06pm

On Wednesday 5th October the National Star College is hosting a ‘Have a Go’ taster day for young disabled people from across the South West who are thinking about going onto college.

The event is being held as part of the WorldSkills London 2011 campaign, which aims to give people a ‘bite-size’ taster of a new skill, trade or profession to help ignite their passion to learn, and also give them the information they need to get on at work or in their careers.

Split into a morning and an afternoon session, the day will include workshops in dance, drama, creative arts, sports, horticulture and much more. Young people will have the opportunity to try out a workshop of their choice and gain an insight into the various courses on offer at National Star College.

Kathryn Rudd, who is Principal at the National Star College, said:

“As well as taking part in fun and interactive workshops young people will also be offered essential information, advice and guidance to support their progression on to the right course for them. Deciding what College to go to and what course to do can often be a difficult decision so come along and find out what you can really do!”
